Mission
The YESPhilly Center is a hub of community engagement, with the goal of providing resources and opportunities for youth to act as empowered stakeholders. Through this vision, YESPhilly will support its community with collaborative decision-making and enriching opportunities. Key focuses identified through community feedback include preparing our self starting entrepreneurs, inspiring our creatives, nurturing culture, and strengthening our capacity as an organization to create meaningful impact.
YESPhilly Center is currently seeking 3-5 dynamic, passionate individuals to serve on the Visionary Council, to contribute towards the success of this mission. We welcome all staff, students, board members, and community members to apply. Function & Responsibilities of Visionary Council
Monitoring progress, successes, and challenges of YESPhilly Center through documentation
Developing a network of partners for YESPhilly Center
Preparing a quarterly report for YESPhilly Administration and Board of Directors that summarizes activities of the Visionary Council
Recruiting new members
Developing and promoting activities of the center
Establishing short and long term goals to promote a sustainable model of the center
Searching and developing new opportunities to expand capacity of the center to serve its mission and goals
Duration & Timeline
Bi-weekly meeting time agreed upon by all members
Follows term schedule, plus 2 week transition period
Upcoming term planning and recruiting takes place 2 weeks prior to the end of term

Activities
YES Student Team: student leadership that convenes to meet to brainstorm the types of events, activities, or initiatives that could be added or improved at YESPhilly that would be interesting, enriching, and engaging for fellow students.
Financial Literacy workshop: Rory Sullivan, a financial guide at Mass Mutual and one of board members hosted a financial literacy workshop to help students gain practical personal money management and saving skills as well as develop financial wellness goals for the future.
Photo/Video Club: An introductory workshop to photography and videography lead by a teaching artist that comes up with mini projects weekly for students to try out new styles or techniques.
Business + Entrepreneurship: A flexible workshop that incorporates lessons about entrepreneurial skills with conversation from students on their experiences with entrepreneurship and brainstorms next steps for entrepreneurial ventures.
Future Studio: An open space that focuses on supporting student personal growth through creating new narratives about personal goals and accountability based on student’s past experiences, strengths, and challenges.
