Counselor’s Corner

Our on campus YESPhilly Counselling Team consists of Ms. Casey, our School Counselor, and our UPenn Intern, Ms. Susie Gu. Our counseling team works to support YESPhilly Students as they pursue their identified goals through individual counseling services, positive behavior supports, consultation, and referral services.

If you would like to contact YESPhilly’s School Counselor, please email Ms. Casey at cbriglia@yesphilly.org or call her office at 267-800-7479.

Our counseling department strives to support our students emotionally and practically, with resources and partnerships with outside programs.
YESPhilly students can meet with:

  • Ms. Casey, lead counselor

  • Ms. Susie Gu, counseling intern, University of Pennsylvania

  • PCOP counselors

  • ELECT counselors

Additionally, YESPhilly maintains a partnership with RHD, and can connect students to resources regarding housing, psychiatric services, support for pregnant and parenting students, and more.

ELECT offers case management and supportive services to expecting or already parenting teen mothers and fathers 21 years old and younger to help them as students achieve their highest potential personally and academically, so they become successful parents and citizens, by providing the support they need to stay in school through graduation.

For Youth Experiencing HoUSING INSECURITY

If you or your family is experiencing housing insecurity or homelessness, this is a video for families in Philadelphia to understand their rights under the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act.

This ensures immediate enrollment and educational stability for students experiencing homelessness.
