    Octavius Catto Scholarship helps Philadelphia high school graduates attend college for free and can also provide support by connecting you with mentors, housing assistance, and child care. Click the link above to learn more.

    CollegeTogether is a debt free college pathway program that combines learning with earning, connecting students to a college education while getting on the job experience, with the assistance of academic and career mentors. CollegeTogether partners with Southern New Hampshire University and Brandman University to create an accelerated college experience that is focused on student driven projects rather than lectures or testing.

    Connection Training Services offers vocational training with job placement services for a variety of different trades, including security, First Aid/AED, Forklift Operator Certification, Construction, Plumbing, Weatherization, Fiber Optics, and Culinary Arts ServSafe Certification. Check out their website for more information and details on each of the programs.

    WesGold Fellows Internship Program is for high school students interested in investing in their future through developing professionalism, business skills, and positively impacting their community. The program focuses on encouraging business and entrepreneurship through field trips, workshops, communication skills, and community services.

    Aon Apprenticeship Program The Aon Apprenticeship program was designed to create a new pathway for individuals interested in completing their Associates Degree while gaining valuable experience and establishing a long-term career at Aon. It is a two-year program that balances on-the-job learning at Aon with in-school classroom learning at a two-year accredited partner college.

    Arts

    PhillyCAM Youth Program is a supportive and collaborative environment of youth media makers! Learn how to communicate your thoughts and ideas by using video and audio to create high-quality content for multiple platforms. Our youth-powered media classes offer best practices for filming, editing and audio production while helping you build a new creative community and your artistic portfolio. Our classes are awesome for youth who want to work in television or radio but don’t know where to start.

    The Village of Arts and Humanities Youth Program is a 30+ year old arts organization in the heart of North Philadelphia. We amplify the voices and aspirations of our community by providing arts-based opportunities for self-expression and personal success that engage youth and their families, revitalize physical space, and preserve black heritage.

    Mural Arts Philadelphia Trash Academy is a project that uses art and creativity to change communities. Trash Academy seeks to restore and beautify public spaces and develops youth leadership in the community. Trash Academy is focused on environmental justice through public art and transformation.     Community

    The Youth Justice Project at Community Legal Services provides holistic representation and engages in community-based outreach and advocacy to ensure that low-income young people transitioning to adulthood are able to connect to the services they need to gain stability and access opportunity.

    Juvenile Law Center has a youth advocacy program that allows young people to lead the vision for their own future by giving you the tools to create policy and change.

    Free Library of Philadelphia offers free help with College Prep, hosts arts and culture events, offers opportunities at several branches for volunteering, and more!

Counselor’s Corner

Our on campus YESPhilly Counselling Team consists of Ms. Casey, our School Counselor, and our UPenn Intern, Ms. Susie Gu. Our counseling team works to support YESPhilly Students as they pursue their identified goals through individual counseling services, positive behavior supports, consultation, and referral services. ​

If you would like to contact YESPhilly’s School Counselor, please email Ms. Casey at cbriglia@yesphilly.org or call her office at 267-800-7479. ​

Our counseling department strives to support our students emotionally and practically, with resources and partnerships with outside programs.
YESPhilly students can meet with:

  • Ms. Casey, lead counselor

  • Ms. Susie Gu, counseling intern, University of Pennsylvania

  • PCOP counselors

  • ELECT counselors

Additionally, YESPhilly maintains a partnership with RHD, and can connect students to resources regarding housing, psychiatric services, support for pregnant and parenting students, and more. 

For Students that are Pregnant and/or Parenting

Education Leading to Employment and Career Training (ELECT)

ELECT offers case management and supportive services to expecting or already parenting teen mothers and fathers 21 years old and younger to help them as students achieve their highest potential personally and academically, so they become successful parents and citizens, by providing the support they need to stay in school through graduation.​

For Youth Experiencing HoUSING INSECURITY

If you or your family is experiencing housing insecurity or homelessness, this is a video for families in Philadelphia to understand their rights under the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act.

This ensures immediate enrollment and educational stability for students experiencing homelessness.
